In which your humble blogger, once again, falls for a nice bit of neoclassical cello. Czocher’s style leans to the dramatic: there is an urgency to the pacing, and a pulsing rhythmic element to her playing, alongside some stirring melodies. Apparently she was inspired by a recent move from Warsaw to Poland’s Baltic coast, and you can feel the open, rugged landscapes and the changing weather in here. Partway through, some sighing vocalizations bring a more aethereal quality. In places, some subtle synths add another layer of texture. This is all right up my street, and I’ve been rinsing it since I came across it, and my appreciation for it is growing with each listen.
I bought this from Boomkat. They call it Modern Classical / Ambient.
