Roza Terenzi & D Tiffany: Edge Of Innocence (digital, Delicate Records, May 2022)

This record from D Tiffany (Canadian DJ and producer Sophie Sweetland) and Roza Terenzi (Australian DJ and producer Katie Campbell) takes us on an entertaining journey, from a kind of IDM-ish ambient techno, through a meaty section of rave-inflected trancy tech-house (did I ever mention that I’m crap at genres?), dipping briefly into something breaksier and then full-on nineties drum’n’bass, and then circling back to roughly where it started. There’s a pleasing bounce running through this which keeps everything feeling satisfyingly coherent. (There are moments that remind me of the Eris Drew album, although that probably says more how out of touch I am than the actual music.) None of it feels particularly deep and meaningful, but who cares when it’s this much fun?

I bought this from the label’s Bandcamp page.
